MANILA, Philippines - B-MEG Integra Manila, Magnolia Parañaque and Xavier San Juan joined Smart Manila in the semifinals after disposing of separate opponents in the Nokia National Basketball Training Center (NBTC) D-League quarterfinals at the Xavier School gym recently.
B-MEG Integra drew 19 and 12 points, respectively, from Mark Cruz and Molline Gonzales as it defeated San Mig Coffee Pasig, 89-72, in the tournament backed by Nokia Philippines and TAO Corporation with recognition from the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP).
Elmer Labis had 13 while Jeffrey Javillonar tallied 11 for San Mig Coffee in this tournament also supported by San Miguel Purefoods Company, Smart Communications and Burlington.
Magnolia Parañaque followed suit after beating Youth For Change-QC, 89-87, with production coming from Mark Ollano (17 points), Fidel Castro (14), Timothy Dumas (13), Carl Javier (13) and Rowan Salaveria with 10 points. Kiefer Ravena and Von Pessumal both had 18 for YFC followed by Paolo Pe’s 14.
Xavier School also edged out Health Solutions Las Piñas, 85-83, with Jeron Teng leading the way with 28 points followed by 11 from BJ Luz and nine markers from Paolo Cabero. The date and venue of the NCR semifinals will be announced soon.
The provincial cast of the Nokia NBTC D-League will be composed of Smart Laguna, Smart Olongapo, B-MEG Cebu and Smart Cagayan De Oro.
The provincial finals is set from May 28-30.
