MANILA, Philippines - The country’s all-time greatest motocross champ, 11-time titlist Glenn Aguilar of Enersel Forte-Ducati Racing, proved he’s still the best after claiming a champion’s trophy and a runner-up finish recently in the kickoff of the 2010 Enersel Forte Superbikes Championship Series at the Batangas Racing Circuit in Rosario, Batangas.
With a big push from his new sponsor Enersel Forte of Sel-J Sports president Jay Lacnit, Aguilar recalled his old form as he captured the big win in the Motard division and the runner-up crown in the Enersel Superbikes Open class.
“I’m very grateful to Enersel Forte and Jay Lacnit of Sel-J Sports for the trust and support in my campaign for honors this season, and for believing the big potential of Superbikes racing in the country,” said Aguilar.
“Enersel Forte’s support drives me to give my best in every race and provide the exciting action that Superbikes fans deserve,” he added.
The crowd roared witnessing his intense neck-and-neck battle with Enersel Forte-Ducati Racing teammate Toti Alberto as the two diced against each other almost throughout.
But Aguilar managed to pull the great escape with his impressive driving at the end of the six-lap race as he clocked 11 minutes, 36.087 seconds, 0.444 seconds ahead of Alberto.
Allan Suansing checked in third just 1.874 seconds behind Aguilar while Mickey Mazo and Inigo Bilbao wound up fourth and fifth, respectively.
