Siso dominates Smart/Head jr tennis 2nd leg
Cebu , Philippines – For the second straight leg, Sally Mae Siso made a strong statement against the rest of the cast in the SMART/Head/Chris Sports Junior Tennis Satellite Circuit 2010.
Picking up from where she left off in nearby city Lapu-Lapu, Siso had once again dominated the 16 and 18-under girls divisions while two other young players Arthur Craig Pantino and Zethley Mae Alferez emerged as the top players in the sixth leg of this event held here at the Cebu Country Club.
Siso outlasted Crissian Issa Kintanar 7-5, 6-4, in the 16-under girls then upstaged her sister Sally Dine Siso, 6-4, 6-3, in the 18-under of this event presented by big tennis supporter Manny V. Pangilinan, chairman of Smart Sports, in cooperation with Head, Chris Sports, Toalson and Manila Electric Company (Meralco).
Pantino ripped Francis Gener Lambayan, 6-1, 6-1, in the 10-unisex while Alferez defeated Cherry Mae Toledo, 6-0, 6-2, in the 12-girls division.
Both Pantino and Alferez were given brand-new cellphones with loads by Smart Communications aside from receiving tennis equipment. The winners also got additional ranking points from the sanctioning Philippine Tennis Association (Philta) while also securing berths for the Junior Masters event to be held at the end of the year.
Also winning their respective finals matches were:
12 boys -- John Godfrey Seno, who scuttled Jaffary Cariga 6-3, 6-3
14 boys -- Jeleardo Amazona, who whipped John Godfrey Seno 6-1, 6-0.
14 girls -- Jenni Dizon, who subdued Chelsea Gacho 6-3,6-2.
16 boys -- Fritz Satera, who drubbed Francis Parangan 6-1,6-1
18 boys -- RJ Abarquez, who pulverized Kurt Gerapusco, 6-1,6-0.
The 7th leg of this event will officially start on April 29 to May 2 in Panglao, Bohol.
