Leus, guest partner rule Liberica Invitational

MANILA, Philippines - Toti Leus and guest partner Mel Mulingtapang assembled 116 points in the best ball and scramble formats to cop the overall net crown in the Liberica Golf Invitational at the Mt. Malarayat Golf and Country Club in Lipa City, Batangas.

Ruel de Castro and Francis Sabio combined for 118 points to beat Earel Garciola and actor Ariel Rivera (121) for the Division I crown in the event sponsored by Woodheights Resort & Spa, Active Group Inc., Auto X, Solar Farm, MJ Carr Golf Management and Stradcom.

The tandem of Joven Calabia and Olivo Ramos made 116 while the duo of Donald Dy and Boy Mercado pooled 119 to capture the Division II and III titles, respectively. Renie Floro and Felix Tienzo combined for a 126 to top the sponsors and guests division.

Reynaldo Laborte and Apolinario Andalis 117 (Div. II) and Dodong Macatangay and Cesar Ravanzo 119 (Div. III) finished runners-up in the tournament backed by Toyota Batangas, YKK Philippines, Mount Carmel Rural Bank, Doc’s Candles, LAMEN Gen, Mktg., Siete Baracos Coffee, Engr. Earel Gardiola, and Amega Global.

Jose Tapia aced the 165-yard, No. 8 of Mt. Makulot course and won a round-trip ticket to Korea for two with accommodation courtesy of Kia Lipa. Antonio Reyes won a Texas Eagle golf cart in the grand raffle of the tournament chaired by Dr. Tobee Nicanor.
