Mazda BT-50 picks up two top spots

-

MANILA, Philippines - TRS-Castrol Drift Team, banking on the reliability of the Mazda BT-50 and the new Mazda RX-7, delivered impressive podium finishes recently in the recently concluded Drift Competition in Eastwood.

Ace driver Bjorn Ongtiabok and multi-awarded race car champion driver JP Tuason shared the diesel-powered Mazda BT-50 pick-up and finished second and third, respectively, against the high-powered Sylvia’s of Ryan Agoncilo and Norman Agojo with the big support of Castrol, Goodyear, Mazda, Coke Zero, Speedlab, Rota Wheels, Starbright Bodykits, Weapon R, Discovery Suites, Fremuff, OMP, Oakley,Toptul and C! Magazine.

Entered the world’s first ever diesel-powered drifting pick-up truck last year, the Mazda BT-50 performed really well for a non-conventional drift vehicle.

Now the Mazda BT-50 pick-up is considered one of the hard hitters in the drift scene. They are now developing a Mazda RX-7 to be the ultimate race car, joining both drift and circuit car competitions under the colors of Castrol-EDGE.

“So far, so good. The Mazda BT-50 drift truck has made it into the mainstream and we’re expecting the Mazda RX-7 to do a lot better and provide more intense action in the coming races,” said Mike Tuason, TRS vice president of operations.
