MANILA, Philippines - The Enercel Forte Philippine Superbikes Championship Series and the Philippine Underbone King Championships kick off the BRC Motorsports Championships season today at the Batangas Racing Circuit in Rosario, Batangas.
Maico Buncio of YRS-Elf-Yamaha Racing and Fil-Japanese Masato Fernando gear up for a strong start in their respective title-retention bids against a slew of talented riders.
Buncio is eyeing a fourth straight crown in the Enercel Forte Superbikes Championship Series against a field that includes former motocross champion Glenn Aguilar and Dashi Watanabe for the Open crown.
Former 10-time champion Jolet Jao will also make his comeback in the Superbikes event while Toti Alberto, John Defensor and George Gerard head the field in the Masters class and Raniel Resuelo, Danes Sarmiento, Niño Garcia and Carlo Villanueva lead the chase for top honors in the Novice class.
Aries Padiernos, Resty Lucas and Dave de Leon see action in the 400cc Expert while Victor Laude goes up against Ernanie Alcantara and Jesse James Dayag in the 400cc Novice.
Fernando, on the other hand, is gunning for a back-to-back crown in the premiere 150cc. Open class of the Philippine Underbone Championship against Buncio, Jaime Barcial, Benjo Mendoza of Kymco and Suzuki riders Johnlery Enriquez and Paul Mark Doblada.
