Mizuno infinity run on Sunday
MANILA, Philippines - Over 4,000 runners are expected to troop to the starting line on 28th St. at the Bonifacio Global City for the fourth annual staging of the Mizuno Infinity Run on Sunday.
Sanctioned by the Philippine Amateur Track and Field Association (PATAFA), this Sunday’s race features a star-studded cast of athletes led by two-time Olympian Eduardo Buenavista, Cresenciano Sabal, Bernardo Desamito and Alex Quisay in the men’s race and Ailene Tolentino, Maricel Maquilan and Ana Vargas in the distaff side.
Buenavista topped this event last year with a time of 51:19 even as Tolentino (1:01:31) edged Maquilan (1:01:32) by a mere second for the women’s crown.
According to race director Rudy Biscocho, this year’s run could be more exciting with the likes of Sabal and Maquilan seeking redemption.
More than the competitive side of the event, running enthusiasts who joined last year’s race will have a chance to better their clocking for the first ever beat your own time category.
Aside from cash prizes for the overall winners, Mizuno is also putting at stake additional awards for the runner who can submit the biggest improvement over their last year’s time in the same distance.
At stake for this Sunday’s race are cash prizes and gift certificates for top winners in the overall category and Mizuno jackets, Sunto watch, and Oakley shade for the top beat your own time finishers.
All finishers will also receive Mizuno finishers tshirts.
