Escalante, Tsui gear up for big wins

-

MANILA, Philippines - Basti Escalante and Christopher Joseph Tsui try to improve their finishes in the previous leg as they resume their campaign in the Magnolia Purewater Karting Super Series this Sunday at the Batangas Racing Circuit in Batangas.

Escalante and Tsui, both racing under the Tuason Racing School (TRS) Racing Career Management Program, made podium finishes in the kickoff leg at the Carmona Racetrack recently.

The 11-year-old Basti, a De La Salle-Zobel Grade 5 pupil, finished third in the Mini-ROK division last month with the support of his personal sponsors Werdenberg International Corp., Bridgestone, Audi, Bank of Commerce, Puma, Transnational Diversified Group, Washington Watches, Emcor, Kservico, The Philippine STAR and SIDC.

Basti also won the Mini-ROK crown in Race 6 of the Pagcor Sports KF2-KF3 Cup.

Tsui, on the other hand, placed second behind Ready2Race teammate Joseph Marwin Rojo in the Formula SL Novice division.

The 14-year-old freshman of De La Salle-Zobel is the latest addition to the Tuason Racing School Racing Career Management Program (TRS-RCMP) designed by the brothers JP & Mike Tuason.

For the past eight months, Escalante and Tsui, also backed by Ready2Race, OMP, Antonio’s Restaurant and AOT, had been undergoing a strict physical, racing and coaching regimen patterned after the training programs used by F1 drivers.

“Our goal with this program is to be able to help young racers achieve a successful career path in motor sports. We have partnerships in Asia, US and Europe for our trainees to move on after they go through the available programs we have here in the country,” said Mike Tuason, head of the Program and VP of TRS for Technical & Operations.
