MANILA, Philippines - Alabang-1, Sta. Elena-1 and Tagaytay Highlands-2 shared top honors in the second Ditas Valles invitational golf tournament at the Baguio Country Club in Baguio recently.
Gerilyn Handog strung up a pair of 38 Stableford points while Christine Naidoo had 73 points as Alabang-1 assembled 144 and 147 for a 291 in the 36-hole tournament organized by the Women’s Golf Association of the Phils.
Sta. Elena-1 matched that output with 145 and 146 as it shared the spotlight in the Team Apayao division. Carina Ricamonte and Lina de Guzman led Sta. Elena’s charge with 75 and 74, respectively.
Forest Hills came in third with a 279 followed by Sta. Elena-3 (275), Villamor (273), Baguio Country Club-2 (273) and Camp John Hay (270), in that order.
Tagaytay Highlands-2, meanwhile, dominated Team Benguet category with a 280 from back-to-back 140s for a whopping 12-point romp over Sta. Elena-2, which had a 268 after two 134s.
Gie Bote came away with 35-36 for a 71 and Ronnie Wuson and Totelle Dimson each had 70 points and Hedy See added 69 as the Highlanders led from start to finish to win pulling away.
Surli Walker had 70 while Rowena Royena had 68 for Sta. Elena-2’s 268, the same output put in by Tagaytay Highlands-1, which slowed down with a 130 after an opening 138.
Baguio CC-1 placed fourth with a 267 followed by Manila Golf (256) and Alabang-2 (149).
