MANILA, Philippines – The Junior Tennis Association of the Philippines kicks off its summer program aimed at boosting junior tennis as it stages the Juntaphil Cup 2010 beginning today at the Greenfields Tennis and Country Club in San Fernando, Pampanga.
A huge field is vying for top honors in various age divisions in the five-day event, a Philta-sanctioned Group 2 event organized by Juntaphil to provide the country’s top and rising stars a venue where they could hone their talent and skills for various international competitions.
The Pampanga event is the first of three tournaments Juntaphil put up this summer with First Gen as presentor and Smart as chief sponsor. Competitions are in 10-and-under unisex, 12-, 14-, 16, and 18-under age groups for boys and girls singles.
Meanwhile, the second tournament, dubbed the First Gen Juntaphil Metro Age Group Championships (Group 1) will be held May 3-9 at the Rizal Memorial Tennnis Center while the Okada-Juntaphil Cup (Group 3) is set May 10-16 at the Manila Polo Club.
