RP Youth U-13 joins Fil-Oil Flying V caging
MANILA, Philippines - The RP Youth U-13 of head coach Mark Herrera is joining the Fil-Oil Flying V tournament which starts April 10 at The Arena in San Juan.
The team will be competing against UAAP and NCAA junior teams.
Herrera, who is also assistant head coach of the Cobra team in the PBL, said the tournament is part of the development program he had developed for the team in preparation for international tournaments.
“This kind of competition is extremely beneficial to the boys for their development and preparation for various international competitions,” said Herrera, who also coaches the UE Junior Warriors and Batang PBA grandslam champion Talk N Text-Quezon City.
“They need to be ready to compete with this kind of environment against much taller and more experienced players,” he added.
The RP Youth U-13 is composed of Matthew Nieto (Ateneo), Kobe Paras (La Salle Greenhills), Mark Framil (La Salle Greenhills), Jarrell Lim (Xavier), Anton Lapez (Xavier), Michael Nieto (Ateneo), Martin Dizon (Ateneo), Jolo Mendoza (Ateneo), Ralph Chua (St. Jude), Joshua Viajar (UE), Jacob Ejercito (Xavier), Milo Castro (UE), Martin Mendoza (Ateneo), Kevin Cabural (UST), Ralph Ablaza (UE), John Michael Maloles (UE) and Isaac Go (Xavier).
The National U-13 basketball program is supported by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas, headed by its chairman Manny V. Pangilinan, vice president Ricky Vargas and executive director Noli Eala.
