Halaguena re-elected GDAP head

MANILA, Philippines - The third GDAP Summer Golf Show set at the NBC Tent on April 10 and 11 has the backing of the country’s top companies with stakes in the sport and its related services.

In fact, the Golf Distributors Association of the Philippines (GDAP) has recently reelected Butch Halaguena of Acro Golf and Construction Corp., official distributor of John Deere heavy equipment in the country, as GDAP president to ensure the smooth flow of its activities for the year. Halaguena is also one of the founding officers of the GDAP.

Supporting the GDAP endeavors are Rainier Santiago of AETNA Enterprises, an importer of golf accessories, who was elected vice president for equipment and accessories; Raymund Atendido, another founding official representing RMA Trading, as vice president for turf; Randy Rana of Pacsports, the official distributor of Nike Golf products, as secretary; and Dulce Tabernilla, of Electrobus Consolidated, Inc., as treasurer.

Rana was also named as overall in charge of the GDAP golf shows. Aside from the GDAP Summer Golf Show at the NBC Tent, the GDAP will also hold the 15th Philippine International Golf Show on Sept. 24-26 at Hall 1 of the SMX Convention Center at the Mall of Asia in Pasay City.

According to Halaguena, GDAP aims to showcase products and services being rendered by its member companies and other companies in the golf industry, with the golf shows aimed at reaching out to as many active and potential players that would change and improve the Filipinos’ sporting lifestyle.

“Golf has its benefits, especially in keeping a healthy lifestyle. The GDAP shows will showcase to our guests various services and products that would help keep the sport of golf very much alive and kicking in the country,” Halaguena said. Meanwhile, Rana, the golf show chairman said top golf distributors and brands, shops, architectural, apparel makers, media and health service suppliers will be present in the NBC Tent show.
