Nine-year-old makes waves in Lipa swim
MANILA, Philippines - Nine-year-old Sean Terence Zamora won four gold medals and emerged the most outstanding swimmer in the Aquatic Sports Association of the Philippines swimming meet at the Lipa swimming pool in Lipa.
Zamora won in the 50m butterfly, 50m backstroke, 50m breaststroke, and 50m freestyle, while Priscilla Aquino, 11, dominated the 100, butterfly, 50m breaststroke, 50m backstroke and 50m freestyle.
Other most outstanding swimmers boys were 6 & Under Arnaud Seyer (6-under), Khielle Angel Kyle Libat (boys 7 -8), Terence Zamora (9-10), Robert Taino (11-12), Duane Baterina (13-14), Gian Daniel Berino and James Christian Amago (15-17), Kier Libat (18-above), Jessarie Presado (girls 6-under), Nirel Marie Ibarra (7-8), Jean Bornasal (9-10), Myka Chua (13-14) and Kristina Libat (15-17).
“The swimmers are all motivated and inspired,” said Susan Papa. The event was even covered by Sports Unlimited hosted by Dyan Castillejo.
Overall team champion was Lipa Mediatrix Swim Club, coached by Emil Amago, followed by Joey Andaya’s Sea Gulls.
Other medal winners were Hans Christian Ramos, Inaki Lorbes, Emanuel Joshua Lorbes, Jan Karlo Fausto, Josef Dos Remedios, Dominic Abacahin, Paul Jerome Carpio, Andre Abacahin, Alex Nacpil, Andrea Pacheco, and Serge Davide all of Susan Papa Swim Academy, which placed second overall.
