MANILA, Philippines - Team Philippines absorbed its second straight defeat this time at the hands of Tanzania, 0-2, Wednesday night to crash out in the race for a semifinal seat in the Deloitte Street Child World Cup in Durban, South Africa.
RP co-manager Craig Burrows reported that the Filipinos desperately tried but failed to erase a 0-1 deficit going into the final minute by launching a furious attack that even included goalie Roberto Orlandez, Jr.
It backfired though as the Tanzanians sneaked in one final goal to seal the win. The Filipinos, who dropped a heartbreaking 2-4 setback to fancied United Kingdom the other day, thus saw their semis campaign snapped although they still have a strong chance to take home a trophy.
This is if RP could top the relegation group, which would clinch it the SCWC Shield, starting on Saturday.
