MANILA, Philippines - A battle between two of the country’s top super-bantamweight contenders headlines this week’s episode of Rod Nazario’s In This Corner over NBN-4, 7-8 p.m.
Ronald Pontillas and Ronnel Esparas square it off in the 10-round main bout presented by Ginebra San Miguel, San Miguel Beer, Purefoods, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO), Biogenic Isopropyl Alcohol, GSIS and Petron.
Pontillas, from the Wildcard boxing gym in Parañaque, is the RP No. 9 super-bantamweight, while Esparas, from the Monis boxing stable in Valenzuela, is rated No. 1 by Luzproba.
The match is one of the three supporting events in the recent Pagcor Parañaque Royal Rumble that features the Philippine mini-flyweight title bout between champion Michael Landero and Ruel Lagunero.
The boxing card was presented by Pagcor Parañaque in cooperation with In This Corner and Pagcor chairman Ephraim Genuino.
