Veteran rowers compete in MBC

MANILA, Philippines - The Seasports Festival, featuring the country’s leading and upcoming rowers, will be held March 20-21 at the Manila Bay with PDRT Fireblades seeking a second straight victory.

Organized by the Manila Broadcasting Company and backed by the Philippine Dragon Boat Federation, the Seasports Festival will feature the mixed team championships with the Camarines Sur Dragon Boat team, Philippine Navy, Philippine National Police and Drago Pilipinas setting out to foil the Fireblades’ back-to-back title bid.

Also in the fold are the Manila Dragons, Triton, One Piece Drakon Sangress, De La Salle University, University of the Philippines, San Beda College, Manila Wave, Manila Blazing Paddles, Manila Ocean Park, Rowers Club Phils. Maharlika and PYROS.

The event, held in cooperation with the City of Manila and the Philippine Coast Guard, will also feature the stock and formula races for motorboats.

The other backers of the festival are Gold Eagle Beer, Caltex, Lipovitan, Alaska, Smart Money, Filinvest, Revicon, M. Lhuillier, My Juice, Wings Detergent, Rhino Herbal Tea for Men, Briggs and Stratton, as well as Cord Marine Epoxy.
