MANILA, Philippines - Ateneo and La Salle shooters captured three gold medals each to share the limelight in the recent second NYDP (National Youth Development Program) anniversary tournament at the PNSA/Marine range in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.
Gregory Gochuico, Ana Katrina Uybarreta and Laarni Limkin produced Ateneo’s golds, while Alfonso Hermoso, Maika Lacson and Aaron Torres delivered the goods for the La Sallians.
Gochuico tallied 464 and Uybarreta posted 315 in the men’s and women’s air rifle (without jacket) event while Limkin topped the class B air pistol competition.
Hermoso shot 568 in the men’s 50-meter rifle prone, Lacson submitted 457.3 in women’s air pistol elite and Torres tallied 501 in the men’s air pistol (tyro) event of the tourney supported by Spring Cooking Oil and Arlet Garcia Dizon of the AGD Travel Services.
Laos Southeast Asian Games campaigner Mica Padilla of Assumption College shared the limelight by ruling the women’s 25-meter sport pistol tiff.
Mica, 18-year-old daughter of SEAG gold medalist and NYDP chair Nathaniel “Tac” Padilla, nipped Woodbridge College’s Shanin Lyn Gonzales by one point and whipped third-placer Alyanna Krystle Chuatoco of ICA by 62.
