70 teams vie in Corp Cup golf

-

MANILA, Philippines - Seventy teams, led by defending Group I champion Camp John Hay Suites 2, slug it out for top honors in the 22nd CJH Suites Philippine Corporate Cup, which gets under way tomorrow at John Hay Golf Club in Baguio City.

With Jung Soo Park, Hun Jeong, Bob Patterson and Raul Molintas on the firing end, CJH Suites 2 overwhelmed 2008 champion CJH DevCo in a duel of home teams to rule the centerpiece event via a 12-point romp under the Molave scoring system last year.

Park and Jeong, who also finished 1-2 in the individual competition, are expected to be back for CJH Suites 2 but a host of others will be out to foil their bid in the 36-hole tournament, a four-to-play, three-to-count format event spread over three days.

A brand new Toyota Innova will be staked as hole-in-one prize in the tournament sponsored by Camp John Hay Manor, Rudy Project, Warbird Securities and Investigation Agency, Inc., Golforce, Le Chef, Rizgolf Sports Marketing, Poblador, Bautista and Reyes Law Offices and Federal Management and Maintenance, Inc.

Other backers of the event are CJH Dev’t Corp., Boracay Sands, Fairways and Bluewater, Zest Airways, The Manila Southwoods Manor, The Manila Southwoods Golf and Country Club, Sherwood Hills Golf Club, Forest Hills Golf Club and ABW Leaves of Life.

The other titles to be disputed are the Groups II, III and IV and the seniors division with Fagioli Coffee Club seeking a back-to-back title romp in Group 2 after beating CJH Suites last year.
