MANILA, Philippines - Buoyed by the success of its inaugural staging, Shakey’s V-League is coming up with the second season of its summer volleyball camp for kids next month.
Now comprised of a series of tour, the Shakey’s V-League Summer Camp Year 2: Spike Madness kicks off on March 5-7 at the SM North Edsa.
From there, the summer camp mall tour goes to SM Bacolod on March 12-14, then it’s either at SM Cebu or Baguio on March 19-21 and in SM Megamall on April 5-9.
Designed for girls 9-14 years old, the camp is designed to teach basic skills such as serving, receiving and setting in one of the most exciting sports in the world today.
Handling the camp is veteran coach Roger Gorayeb, mentor of multi-titled San Sebastian, who was present in yesterday’s PSA Forum at the Shakey’s UN Avenue branch along with Rod Nepomuceno and Shakey’s Pizza brand manager Coochy Mamaclay.
“We’re doing the Shakey’s V-League Summer Camp again because of the successful pilot episode that we had,” said Mamaclay in the session presented by Outlast Battery, Pagcor, Shakey’s and Accel.
“But now, we want to bring it more to the public, since last year, we only held it in one venue where more than 250 participants attended. We’re confident we’ll be able to attract more this time,” added the Shakey’s official.
Serving as camp instructors are Shakey’s V-League superstars such as Suzanne Roces, Laurence Ann Latigay, Sasa Devanadera, Michelle Carolino, Gretchen Ho and Jinni Mondejar.
