St. Benilde, SBC set pace in NC netfest
MANILA, Philippines - San Beda continued to dominate the men’s division while St. Benilde kept its win run in the women’s side as they stayed on track in the 85th NCAA table tennis competition at the Emilio Aguinaldo College gym.
Nico Cruz powered the Lions to a 3-0 rout of the Perpetual Help Altas to roll to their 10th straight victory at the start of second round action in the meet backed by Andro.
The Lady Blazers, on the other hand, defused the Jose Rizal Bombers and blasted the Generals with a pair of lopsided 3-0 wins to remain on course of a fifth straight crown.
The Blazers, the reigning men’s titlists, dropped the Letran Knights and the Generals, 3-0, to improve to a 9-1 (win-loss) slate.
The Lady Knights, meanwhile, overpowered the Lady Generals and the Lionesses, 3-0, for a 6-1 record.
In high school category, San Sebastian routed CSB-La Salle Greenhills, 3-0, and edged Letran, 3-2, to nail its 10th win in row.
Meanwhile, the NCAA will hold the finals of soft tennis, a demonstration event, from 8 a.m. to 12 noon today at the Rizal Memorial Tennis Center.
