Claret tossers buck Pascual but miss semis
MANILA, Philippines - Claret School QC beat Lucas Pascual Elementary School, 25-21, 25-14, but missed the semifinal round of the Toby’s Sports-Dunkin’ Donut Junior Volleyball League at the Arellano U gym over the weekend.
Alfred Perez, Grant Borbon and Miguel Manicad combined for 22 points but Claret failed to hold Lucas Pascual to a 30-point output and lost to Maximo Estrella Elementary School in the quotient tally by 0.01.
Maximo Estrella thus advanced to the semis against Concepcion Elementary School in the boys’ division starting at 2 p.m. on Sunday.
In girls’ play, PAREF Woodrose Alabang gained a semis berth by upending Miriam College Elementary School, 25-17, 25-19, to force a tie with Hope Christian School. Woodrose won by 0.11 in the quotient tally and will meet Colegio San Agustin starting at 11 a.m., also on Sunday.
De La Salle Lipa clashes with De La Salle Zobel at 10 a.m. in the other semis pairing in the girls’ division of the event backed by Shakey’s, Mikasa, Asics and Equipe.
