Ligad, Teng share Tiong Lian honors

-

MANILA, Philippines - St. Jude Catholic School’s Jason Ligad and Jeron Teng of Xavier turned in solid games in the week to share the Freego Reflex Denim Player of the Week honors in the Freego-Metro Manila Tiong Lian Basketball Association tournament.

The 5-8 Ligad produced huge numbers in the team’s last two wins to help the Judenites claim an outright semis berth in the 40th edition of the tournament presented by Fresh Gear Revolution Denim.

He averaged 17.5 points the past two games.

In the team’s 83-34 rout of Uno High School last Jan. 16, he scored 19 points in just 12 minutes of play. Against the multi-titled Chiang Kai Shek College, he had 16 points, five rebounds and two steals for the team’s 59-58 win - their fourth in a row.

Teng, on the other hand, normed 22.5 points and 15 rebounds in the team’s last two wins to secure his second Freego Reflex Denim Player of the Week award.
