Tests show Brian out of danger
MANILA, Philippines - Brian Viloria has been declared in stable condition after being rushed to the hospital moments after taking a painful loss to Colombia’s Carlos Tamara yesterday.
Now the question is: Will he ever fight again?
Only Viloria, or his lovely fiancee, Erika Navarro, can provide the answer.
As he was being led back to his dressing room, Viloria looked like he’s ready to collapse. Not long after, he was brought on an ambulance to the nearby San Juan de Dios Medical Center.
He was stabilized and later on brought to the Makati Medical Center where he underwent a series of tests – a CT Scan and X-rays. Fortunately, the results were good, and he was declared out of danger.
“They did a CT-Scan on him and found no blood clots. Then they did X-rays on Brian’s neck because he complained of pain. Maybe it was just some muscle spasm or whiplash,” said Dr. Nasser Cruz of the Games and Amusements Board.
“Everything is normal but he was advised by doctors at Makati Med to stay in the hospital at least for the night,” said Dr. Cruz, the boxing division chief of the GAB.
He said he was able to speak to Brian, and he assured the boxer that what was being done are precautionary measures which boxers normally undergo. – Abac Cordero
