NCA holds derby Jan. 26

-

MANILA, Philippines - The National Cockers Alliance will hold another action-packed derby on Jan. 26 with a banner field expected at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

The NCA derby comes on the heels of the successful staging of the World Championship Derby, which featured the country’s premier and the top US gamefowl breeders.

Americans Dan Gray and Tom Wilson said the NCA WCD remains the toughest derby to win because of the number and quality of entries.

No entry dominated the whole event with the fights mostly decided by the breaks or well-conditioned and well-primed roosters.

You need well-conditioned, double-barrelled aces to win in the World Championship Derby, according to George Torres and Gerry Ramos.

Allan Siaco and James Uy’s AS Knights Swak na Swak Ju emerged champions with seven points.

Osang dela Cruz and Tommy Chua’s Gold Quest Champions finished second with 6 1/2 points while Allen and Teng’s TR Oragon, Ed Moredoo’s EM Summit, and Ernie Austria, and Rey Allas’ Firefly 13 wound up six points.

Ricky Reyes, Rian Colors BMRR, Iggy Arroyo’s Red Creek, Manny and Armand Santos’ Jade Resort 2, and Eric dela Rosa’s Diego had 5 1/2 points, a half point ahead of Dominic Amistad’s Cebu Sting, Ferdie Buensalida FBJ Gamefarm, Dan Gray’sSF Firefly 15, Erwin Nepomuceno’s Erwin Camsur, Gov. Ito Ynares’ Binangonan and Boy Jiao’s Erap 2010.
