MANILA, Philippines - Burlington and the Philippine Basketball Association have recently renewed its partnership of more than two decades.
The relationship between Burlington and the PBA started in 1986 when the leading name in hosiery entered into an agreement with Asia’s first pay-for-play league to sponsor its basketball school on air with Norman Black.
This PBA coverage feature won accolades from the Catholic Mass Media Awards (CMMA) and Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) in 1990.
Then Burlington was named official PBA socks, a testament to its superior quality and popularity.
The two organizations also launched the Batang PBA summer tournaments and clinics that benefited thousands of kids under 12 years.
“We are proud to be part of the PBA community and partner in giving the public worthy projects for 24 years now,” said Ruddy Tan, general manager of Burlington Industries Phils, Inc. Burlington, which has expanded into the footcare line with its FlexGel & SofiGel products, is committed not just to PBA in particular but to youth and sports development in general with its support to badminton, cycling and football grassroots tourneys.
