NCA stages 5-cock derby at Ynares

MANILA, Philippines - The National Cockers Alliance (NCA) holds a blockbuster five-cock derby today at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

The event, to be hosted by Gerry Ramos and Ferdie Buensalida , is part of the NCA’s fund-raising drive for underprivileged college students. The association has so far four scholars in the University of the Philippines Los Baños taking up veterinary science and agriculture courses.

Among the sportsmen expected to see action today are Gov. Ito Ynares, JV Magsaysay, Elmer Nepomuceno, Patrick Antonio, Mario Villamor, James Uy, Manny and Arman Santos, Jimmy Ang, Jun Santiago, Ernie Austria, Rey Allas, Hessie Mallillin, Tommy Chua and Osang dela Cruz, T. Sevilla, Eric dela Rosa, Danny Teves, Bebot Villar, Rudy Albaño, Ruel Ricafort, Efren Canlas, the Jingco brothers, the Madlangbayan bothers and Jet Fernando.

The NCA will also hold the World Championship Derby on Jan. 12, 14 and 16, 2010. Americans Tom Cooper and Jeff Hudstep, Wayne Spurlock, Romy Arciaga, Joe and Kevin Wolcott, Allen Gambrel, Tom Wilson and Dan Gray head the list of foreign participants competing in the World championship.
