MCC 16-U chess starts
MANILA, Philippines - Eleven-year old Judino Tadeo Macayan leads the early entries in the MCC Kiddies (16-under) chess tournament which kicks off at 11 a.m. today at the Lower second floor of St. Francis Square behind SM Megamall in Mandaluyong.
The tournament is open to players 16 years old and below, to be grouped into four according to their ratings. The champion in each group will advance to the finals to determine the overall champion and best scorers in 8-under; 11-under and 14-under. The finals will be tomorrow. Both stages will adopt the 60-minute time control.
Other early entries include Carmella Galve, Roselle Vicencio, Stephanie Melicano, Claudio Olar Jr., Reu Sebolino, Jonathan Abo, Enzo Melicano, Kyle Cinco, Gino Cabual, Malcolm Kwok, Brian Park, Estrellito Remolloroza, Luis Ortiz and Jiu Melicano.
