LOS BAÑOS, Laguna, Philippines – Dr. Arnold Elepaño, a director at the University of the Philippines Los Baños-College of Engineering and Agricultural Technology (UPLB-CEAT), is the new president of the 45-year-old College Country Club (CCC), one of the longest associations of tennis players in Southern Tagalog.
He succeeds Dr. Vicente Cabrera of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) - Region IV-A during the election of new set of officers recently.
Other CCC officers are Armando Diaz, vice president; Dr. Kevin Yaptenco, also of UPLB-CEAT, secretary; Jose Maria Valmayor of the Bank of Philippine Islands (BPI), treasurer; and Ben Arizala of the UPLB College of Forestry and Natural Resources, sports director.
Advisers are Dr. Dante de Padua, former UPLB dean and one-time director of the Department of Agriculture-National Postharvest Institute for Research and Extension (NAPHIRE, now Bureau of Postharvest Research and Extension or BPRE); and Dr. Ramon Valmayor, former executive director of the Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Council for Agriculture, Forestry and Natural Resources Research and Development (DOST-PCARRD).
