Wang's rips Pharma, ends MBL drought

MANILA, Philippines - Wang’s Ballclub ended more than four years of frustrations by winning the title in the 2009 MBL Invitational Cup basketball tournament.    

Led by former PBA player Biboy Simon and handled by new coach Pablo Lucas, Wang’s Ballclub brought down Zycare Pharma-University of Manila, 90-75, in their winner-take-all title showdown at the Lyceum gym in Intramuros, Manila.   

Simon exploded with a game-high 30 points, including five three-point shots, to lead the Mandaluyong-based team to the title in this season-ending tournament sponsored by Smart Communications, Dickies Underwear, PRC Managerial Services, Jose’s Chicken Inasal, Santillan Beach Resort-Cebu and Big Boy Restaurant.
