MANILA, Philippines - The Brunei Barracudas banked on a second-half surge to stun the league-leading Philippine Patriots with a 95-70 rout in the Asean Basketball League at the Brunei Indoor Stadium Sunday.
American imports Michael Pilgrim and Reggie Larry pumped in 20 points apiece as the Barracudas halted the Patriots’ six-game winning streak.
Filipino reinforcements Don Camaso, Leo Avenido and Kiko Adriano also stepped up to help power the Barracudas to an 89-66 bulge, heading into the final two minutes of the contest.
The Patriots, who remained on top of the team standings at 7-2, missed the services of key defensive players Nonoy Baclao and Elmer Espiritu.
