Ocanas prevail in dancesport tilt

MANILA, Philippines - Brian Joseph and Karla Stephanie Ocana bested a host of rivals to capture the Grade A Standard Discipline crown in the 13th DanceSport Council of the Philippines National Championships at the Rizal Ballroom of the Makati Shangri-La Hotel recently.

Emmanuel Reyes and Maira Rosete placed second while the tandem of Dominador Ylagan and Rebecca Vasaylaje placed third in the premier event organized by DSCP headed by president Becky Garcia.

Ronnie Steeve Vergara and Charlea Lagaras topped the Grade A Latin Discipline, beating the Ronnie Steeve Vergara-Charlea Lagaras, John Erolle Melencio-Dearlie Gerodias, and Jefferson Pimentel-Virgianie Oyao tandems.

The event was backed by Philippine Sports Commission, Philippine Olympic Committee, Department of Tourism, Philippine Reclamation Authority, PCSO, Pagcor, NU107, Savannah Moon, Water Zone, Studio 116, The Manila Times, Makati Shangri-La Hotel, GNK Ballroom and Café Restaurant, Caylabne Bay and PRA general manager Andrea Domingo and DOT Undersecretary Cynthia Carrion.
