Zycare, Wang's eye final berths

MANILA, Philippines - Elimination round topnotcher Zycare Pharma-University of Manila and Wang’s Ballclub seek outright finals berths when they take on separate opponents in a pair of crucial sermifinal matches in the 2009 MBL Invitational basketball championship today.

Zycare-UM squares off with University of Santo Tomas at 5:30 p.m. at the Lyceum gym in Intramuros, Manila, while Wang’s battles Imus Car Center-EARIST at 8 p.m. at the RTU gym in Mandaluyong City.

As the top two teams in the elimination round, Zycare-UM and Wang’s need only to beat their respective semifinal rivals to arrange a winner-take-all title showdown on Dec. 15.

UST, which knocked out two-time MBL champion Ocean Fresh-Lyceum, and Imus Car-EARIST, which eliminated Asenso Manileño in their knockout matches, need to win twice to advance to the finals.
