ABL free throw contest tomorrow
MANILA, Philippines - The ASEAN Basketball League (ABL) will hold a free throw shooting contest among its fans tomorrow with the winner getting the chance to watch the game of the Philippine Patriots against the Kuala Lumpur Dragons in Malaysia on Jan. 9 next year.
The contest will be held during the game between the Patriots and Indonesia’s Satria Muda BritAma at The Arena in San Juan. Attendance is free.
According to RP team operations coordinator Albert Tirona, 10 fans will be randomly chosen to participate in the contest where they will be given 30 seconds to make as many points as possible.
The contestant with the most number of points will be declared winner. If there’s a deadlock at the end of the contest, there will be another shoot-out for 10 seconds.
The winner will join the trip of the RP Patriots on Jan. 8 and will be back on Jan. 10.
“The contest is the league’s own way to say thank you for its fans for their support to ABL,” said Erick Arejola, team manager of the RP Patriots.
Meantime, the Patriots try to extend their winning streak to six against the Indons. The Patriots are leading the six-nation tournament with a 6-1 record.
