MANILA, Philippines - A five-man TRS-Ford Focus Racing crew vies for the top plum in the four-hour Endurance Challenge today in the 2009 Philippine Motorsports Festival at the Subic International Raceway.
It will be another big test for the TRS homegrown talents as they parade two Ford Focus Tdci race cars in the event.
Veteran TRS drivers Mike Tuason and Bjorn Ongtiabok will alternately drive the gasoline-powered Ford Tdci while novice drivers Ding Dizon, Mark Prangnell and Juha Roiha will be on board the diesel-powered race car.
The event, backed by Ford Racing, Goodyear Racing, Standard Insurance, OMP, Discovery Suite, Yellow Cab, Aguila Auto Glass, BusinessWorld, C!Magazine, Fremuff, Dupont, Starbright Bodykits, Ultra Racing, Toptul, Orange Electronics, Rota Wheels, K&N, Unichip and Philippine Auto Club, provides TRS-Ford Focus drivers the opportunity to test their limit driving up to two hours each, and challenge their strategy as they refuel, change drivers and do tire changes and repairs during the four-hour run.
It will also test the quality of the Ford Focus Tdci racecars against the other manufacturer cars running on both diesel and gasoline.
All participants will be given two practice sessions today before tomorrow’s main event. Last year, the team managed to claim second, third and fourth overall finishes.
