Invitational duckpin bowling up

MANILA, Philippines - Big cash prizes will be up for grabs in the 34th National Invitational Open duckpin bowling championships set tomorrow until Dec. 6 at the Marketplace Bowling Center in Mandaluyong City.

The men’s and ladies’ team champions will receive P35,000 and P30,000, respectively, according to Inez Magbual, president of the organizing Philippine Duckpin Bowling Council (PHIDBC).

The second placers will get P20,000 each while the third finishers will bring home P10,000 each.

Other cash awards are P12,000 each for the men’s and ladies’ singles champions (ABC), P9,000 each for the runners-up and P7,000 each for the third placers, P1,000 each for the men’s and ladies’ high team single scorers and P500 each for the individual high single, top single and hi-pinning scorers.

Prizes for the mixed doubles event will be based on the number of participants.

Ilocos Norte Rep. Bongbong Marcos has been invited to grace the association’s traditional Christmas party on Dec. 3.

Presidents of different NSAs (National Sports Associations) and PHIDBC supporters have been invited to attend the awarding ceremony.

Competition will be held from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. and on Nov. 28 to Dec. 3 and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Dec. 4 to 6.

Duckpin bowlers from Metro Manila and the provinces are expected to vie for honors.
