UST, St. Scho top FBL 3-on-3
MANILA, Philippines - University of Sto. Tomas and St. Scholastica’s College posted contrasting victories to lead the winners in the Futures Basketball League (FBL)-Samsung 3-on-3 tournament at the San Beda College-Alabang covered courts in Muntinlupa recently.
The Baby Tigers beat Golden Sunbeam, 11-7, in the boys’ junior division while St. Scholastica’s edged St. Theresa’s College, 6-5, via a shootout in the girls’ category.
Earlier, UST defeated its sister team, 6-3, while Golden Sunbeam prevented an all-UST showdown by besting another UST team, 6-3, in the semis.
St. Scholastica’s and St. Theresa’s booted out their respective sister teams to arrange the title clash.
The midgets division saw Don Bosco Technical Institute (DBTI) prevail over San Beda College-Alabang (SBC-A), 7-4, for the crown.
Earlier, DBTI blanked San Sebastian College, 11-0, and SBC-A nipped Colegio de San Agustin, 3-2, in the semis.
