Chinese ace foils all-Korean final

MANILA, Philippines - China’s Liu Shaozhuo thwarted another all-Korean finale as she smothered Yoo Mi, 6-3, 6-3, to set up a title clash with seventh seed Han Sung Hee in the PLDT/Smart ITF Women’s Circuit Week 2 at the Rizal Memorial Tennis Center yesterday.

Liu kept the momentum of her stirring 7-5, 6-4 upset of top ranked Elodie Rogge-Dietrich of France in the quarterfinals Thursday as she scuttled Yoo’s bid for a second straight finals appearance in the $10,000 ITF-sanctioned event sponsored by PLDT/Smart, Holcim, Phinma and the ITF Grand Slam Development Fund.
