RP netters off to Malaysia

MANILA, Philippines - National netters Danny Arcilla and PJ Tierro will represent the Philippines in the Dr. Poh Soon Sim Cup (formerly known as A&P Inter Team Tennis) at the National Tennis Center at Jalan Duta, Malaysia Nov. 5-8.

Others on the team are Cebuana Lhuillier Davis Cup team manager Jean Henri Lhuillier, Randy Villanueva, James Wilkinson, Jaime Solon, Gerard Maronilla and Junjun Toledo.

First organized in October 2008, the cup aims to bring together as many ex-players including national players who were fixtures in the international tennis scene and current players to promote competitiveness, build camaraderie, and instill interest in the sport.

Participation in the Dr. Poh Soon Sim Cup is purely by invitation. Participating teams are from Australia, Thailand, China, South Korea, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines.
