PSBank honors Ateneo's Salamat, Al-Hussaini

MANILA, Philippines - PSBank gave recognition to Ateneo’s Eric Salamat and Rabeh Al-Hussaini for their outstanding performances in the recently concluded 72nd season of the University Athletics Association of the Philippines’ (UAAP), leading to the Blue Eagles second straight men’s varsity conquest.

Salamat was cited for his reliability and consistent performance over 14 games of the elimination rounds, clinching the PSBank Maaasahan Player of the Season. He led the league in steals in Seasons 71 and 72 with his 2.1 average and ranked third in assists with 3.7 per game.

Al-Hussaini, on the other hand, grabbed the PSBank Maaasahan Finals Most Valuable Player (MVP) award after the Ateneo Blue Eagles lorded it over the University of the East Warriors in Game 3 of their title series .

The 6-foot-6 center led the Eagles to the title-clinching 71-58 victory after scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds. He also averaged 22.3 points per game and 11.7 rebounds in the best-of-three finals.

“We’re very happy to be a part of UAAP for the sixth straight year through the PSBank Maaasahan Player awards. For this season, Eric and Rabeh definitely embody what PSBank stands for: simple lang, maaasahan,” PSBank marketing and communications head/VP Jude Montinola said during the awarding.
