Alabang Grins, Army-Phiten lead UFL winners

MANILA, Philippines - The Alabang Grins-Orient Freight and Army-Phiten hurdled their respective rivals to join four other teams in the lead in the opener of the LBC United Football League at the Ateneo University field in QC and two other venues.

Tateng Pasilan came away with two goals in the second half, including a tap-in from a cross by Enrique Salas as the Grins pounded out a 2-0 victory over the Diliman FC-Victory Liner side.

The Army-Phiten, on the other hand, leaned on striker Luis Brillantes, who scored back-to-back goals in the first 10 minutes before Rodrigo Betita added another goal in the 74th to power the team to a 3-0 romp over the Loyola FC ATR Kim Eng.

Over at the Army ASCOM field, Navy-Selecta blanked USFC-GO, 5-0, while the Lions FC-Alaska battled Union FC-Rudy Project to a scoreless draw.

At the Nomads field in Parañaque, Mendiola FC- E.Games also posted a 5-0 rout over Manila All Japan-K-Line while Air Force-Rider pulled off a 5-3 victory over Mama Africa FC.
