Wildcats gain PCC zonal slot

MANILA, Philippines - Holy Trinity College General Santos City defeated Ateneo de Davao, 96-86, recently to earn the right to represent Mindanao in the 2009 Philippine Collegiate Championship.

The HTC Wildcats advanced to the zonal qualifying games in Cebu City set Nov. 4-8.

The Mindanao champions earlier disposed of Southern City College of Zamboanga and Cagayan de Oro in the PLDT and Smart-backed tournament held at Gaisano gym in Davao City.

The COC Scorpions had to earlier forfeit an earlier win for fielding two players that were not part of their lineup during their “mother league” tournament in Cagayan de Oro.

The Cebu Zonal games will have eight teams competing.
