Fun run to highlight breast cancer drive

MANILA, Philippines - The Soroptimist International of Ortigas and Environs will be having its eighth annual 3K, 5K, and 10K fun run dubbed “Takbo! Breast Friends”on Sunday, 5 a.m. at the ULTRA Sports Complex, Pasig City.

Mariecel Onate, president of Soroptimist Ortigas, said the fun run will highlight breast cancer awareness, as breast cancer is one of the leading causes of death among women.

She also said all proceeds generated from the fun run will be for the chemotherapy treatment (6 cycles) of indigent breast cancer patients as she encouraged all running enthusiasts and health conscious individuals to participate in the different categories. “Together let us fight breast cancer in the Philippines,” she said.

Registration fees are P250 for individual registration and P 200 for group or club registration of more than 10 persons. Cash prizes, trophies and medals are at stake. On site registration is non-competitive.
