MANILA, Philippines - A lean 10-man RP karting team left for Macau recently, raring to slug it out with the top karters in the CIK-FIA World Karting Championship set Oct. 8-11 at the Kartodromo de Coloane Circuit.
Joey Orduna of Ready2Race tries to make it two-in-row in the Asian Karting Open Championship.
The 13-year-old Orduna currently leads the local Karter of the Year race with 300 points but has dropped to sixth place overall in the Asian Karting Open with 44 points after skipping the Indonesia leg.
Indonesian Mohammad Sharif Raharjo shows the way with 85 points while Malaysian Rahul Raj Mayer and RP’s Franco Reyes tote 64 and 52 points, respectively.
Hong Kong’s Matthew Solomon and Indonesian Andhika Sasabone are in fourth and fifth with 48 and 44 points, respectively.
Others in Team RP, powered by Red White Racing of Indonesia, are Juha Turalba, Christian Gaddi, Marino Sato and Jaz Monzones in the Mini-ROK; Roby Benito in the Formula 125 Open Junior; Cebuano Jette Calderon in the ROK Junior; and Javi Benitez, John Alvarez and Michael Vaughn Fox in the premiere Formula 125 Open Senior.
