Coyukiat golf on at Valley

MANILA, Philippines - Golfing Rotarians and their guests take center stage today as they vie for top honors in various divisions in the DG Dulce Coyukiat Golf Cup at the Valley Golf Club’s South course in Antipolo.

Some 120 players are expected to see action in the 18-hole tournament which will have a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m. The event raises funds for RI District 3780 QC projects such as poverty, literacy, health and water.

“I would like to thank Valley Golf Club and its officers for allowing us to use their facilities for this Rotary golfing fellowship and to all our sponsors, donors and to those who in one way or another have helped this event held in my honor,” Coyukiat said.

Coyukiat, RI Dist 3780, will be joined in the ceremonial tee off by PP Jun Asuncion, Dist. sports committee chair, and tournament chair and IPP Luke Lucas.

A brand-new Mitsubishi Lancer EX GLX, courtesy of Mitsubishi Motors Phils., and a Mizuno set from MasterSports, will be staked as hole-in-one prizes in the tournament backed by Magsaysay Transport and Logistics, Lorenzo Shipping Lines, Pioneer Insurance and Carranza Outdoor Advertising as diamond sponsors.

The event will use the Modified Callaway scoring system with the individual competition divided into Classes A, B and C. The team event is composed of 3-4 players with the best 3 scores to count.
