MANILA, Philippines - The country’s top junior riders pit skills and talent with their counterparts from six other countries in the FIM Asian Supercross Championships firing off tomorrow at SM City Bicutan-NAMSSA Speedworld Circuit.
The event ending Saturday is set 6 p.m.-10 p.m., marking the country’s first-ever hosting of night racing.
International riders from Australia, Russia, Indonesia, Japan, Thailand and Iran are seeing action in the event sanctioned by NAMSSA, UAM and FIM.
The classes of international riders will be at the 65cc level at 9-12 years old; 85cc Junior riders from 12-15 years old and the MX 2 Pro together.
Kenneth San Andres from Bulacan and JC Rellosa from Bicol head the local squad in the event supported by FIM (www.fm-live.com), CAT Monarch equipment and the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office.
NAMSSA, headed by Macky Carapiet, is the country’s governing body for 2-3 wheel motorsports issuing competition licenses in all races.
