MANILA, Philippines - The FIDE arbiters seminar starts 1 p.m. today at the Executive Lounge of the Duty Free Fiesta Mall in Parañaque.
Asian Chess Federation deputy president Casto Abundo will conduct the seminar, a requirement for the FIDE arbiter title.
The 15-hour lectures cover the FIDE laws of chess and rapid and blitz rules, title and rating regulations, arbiter title regulations, tournament rules, tie breaks, basic principles for organizing tournaments, use of chess clocks, systems of playing, round robin, Swiss system and pairing rules.
