CANLUBANG, Laguna, Philippines – Jobim Carlos sizzled with a three-under-par round worth 57 points as Angelicum swept into the overall lead after the penultimate round Thursday of the Samsung Interscholastic golf championships at the Canlubang Golf and Country Club north course here.
Carlos, spearhead of the recent Putra Cup junior squad, carried the fight for his high school team bidding to end the domination of La Salle and Ateneo in boys play, grabbing a four-point edge over the college squad of La Salle-Taft through 36 holes.
Kenneth Kano chipped in 50 and Aristeo Mata scored 49 for Angelicum’s 301 which also sent the Quezon City school rushing to a 14-point advantage over La Salle Greenhills in their regular division.
