DPS twins sweep AAPS chessfest

MANILA, Philippines - Twins Keith Stephanie Go and Patricia Stephanie Go of the Diliman Preparatory School (DPS) pulled off a 1-2 finish in the Athletic Association of Private Schools (AAPS) Inter-School District III - Quezon City chess meet.

Keith finished six points in seven outings, a full point ahead of Patricia in the event which also drew players from Saint Pedro Poveda College, Stella Maris College and St. Therese of the Child Jesus.

With the win, Keith and Patricia advanced to the AAPS Unit V- QC chess meet next month. They will join other qualifiers Patricia Arbolado and Maria Jose Pastor, also from DPS.

The DPS varsity chess team is coached by National Master Erwin Carag and assistant coach Raymond Salvio.

Meanwhile, the DPS-QC will sponsor a sportswriting seminar/workshop to be conducted by veteran sportswriter Arman Armero on Sept. 26, 1 p.m., at the school’s audio visual room.
