Xavier whips Lourdes, cops 3rd in Passarelle

MANILA, Philippines - Xavier School demolished Antipolo Lady of Lourdes School, 110-70, to finish third in the Passarelle division of the SBP-Passarelle twin basketball tournaments at the San Pedro Poveda gym last weekend.

Paolo Miguel Cabero, Francis Kevin Yao, Juan Paolo Susmerano, Albert Oxales and Marco Ayuste combined for 77 of the hosts’ total points as they bucked the absence of Jeron Teng to salvage third place in the Milo-sponsored tournament organized by the BEST Center (Basketball Efficiency and Scientific Training Center).

Ateneo and La Salle will dispute the SBP championship on Sunday, also at the San Pedro Poveda gym.

San Beda and Greehills will clash for the Passarelle crown. Games will start at 9 a.m.

Professional player Jonas Villanueva, a BEST Center graduate who was a PBA championship series best player awardee, will grace the championship games and will be on hand to award the trophies to the winners along with the Best Center and Milo officials.
