49 keglers open bid for WC title

MANILA, Philippines - Forty-nine lady pintopplers, led by international campaigners Liza del Rosario and Krizziah Tabora, open their bids for the national World Cup title starting today at the Coronado Lanes Starmall.

Del Rosario, last year’s champion and representative to the international finals, and Tabora competed in the recent World Women’s Tenpin Bowling Championships in Las Vegas, Nevada.

This year’s ladies’ and men’s champions will earn the right to carry the Philippine colors in the 2009 Bowling World Cup international finals slated Nov. 14-21 in Melaka, Malaysia.

The other national finalists in the tournament organized by Puyat Sports and co-sponsored by Amway and Nutrilite are: Nherry Naval, Lily Ngo, Tess Eusebio, Letty Pineda, Maan Catolico, Jojie Cabacungan, Mischa Co, Jaymee Bautista, Alice Cabazor, Wanda Teer, Nina Monteverde, Minnie Roque, Becky Ramirez, Nanette Gerodias, Janet Abril, Marissa Campita, P.J. Gervasio, Perla Pacheco, Myrna Bautista and Jane Bonifacio.
